Hi, I'm Veronica. I created this site to help other people build their custom homes. After going through two builders before the house was even finished being framed, I became an owner-GC. It was a lot of work but honestly the best way to do it.
I've learned lessons from hiring (and firing) the first builder and dealing with the second, well respected, builder going bankrupt.
I don't have any building experience and neither does my husband. My work history is in advertising (about as unrelated as it gets!), and my husband is a software engineer (also not very relevant).
We share our experiences and learned-expertise to help you build your house. While I believe being your own general contractor is the best way to go (if you have the time!), it's also worth knowing your way around these topics to keep your builder honest.
